What Is Chocolope Feminised?Chocolope Feminised earns its name honestly. The flavour genuinely tastes like coffee and dark chocolate, which is rare among sativas. DNA Genetics created it by crossing Chocolate Thai, an old-school landrace prized for that same chocolate note, with Cannalope Haze. The Haze parent brought tropical fruitiness and real sativa vigour to the cross. Since its release, this strain has picked up several Cannabis Cup wins for DNA Genetics.
Breeders bred these seeds to produce almost exclusively female plants. So every seed gives you a genuine shot at that same award-winning genetics. As a result, you skip the guesswork of a regular pack entirely. If you’re new to judging bud quality by more than reputation, our guide to spotting quality weed is a useful companion read.
What sets Chocolope apart, though, isn’t just the flavour. It’s the clarity. This strain delivers an energising, focused head high, rather than a hazy or foggy one. Because of that, it’s remained a genuine favourite for daytime use, decades after it first appeared.
Origins & Genetics of Chocolope Chocolope’s genetics trace back to two distinct sativa lines. Chocolate Thai is a landrace variety, originally grown in Thailand and long prized for its subtle cocoa aromatics. Cannalope Haze, meanwhile, is a Haze-family hybrid known for tropical, melon-like fruitiness. DNA Genetics crossed the two to combine both traits in a single, stable line.
The result leans heavily sativa, at around 95% sativa to 5% indica by most estimates. That heritage explains the plant’s height and its long flowering window, both classic sativa traits. It also explains the effect: clear-headed and energising, rather than the heavier body stone typical of indica-leaning strains. If you enjoy that same Haze-driven clarity, Amnesia Haze Feminised is worth comparing alongside this page.
Because both parent lines are genuinely old-school landraces and Haze hybrids, Chocolope carries a level of genetic stability that’s harder to find in newer, more heavily crossed strains. Breeders have consistently prioritised preserving that stability, along with the signature chocolate-coffee flavour, above chasing higher THC numbers alone.
Chocolope Effects, Aroma & FlavourUsers commonly describe Chocolope Feminised as energising and clear-headed. Expect a fast, uplifting onset rather than a slow build. Because the effect runs cerebral and focused, many treat this strain as a genuine daytime or morning choice. Creativity and sociability are also commonly reported alongside the mental lift. As always, individual response depends on tolerance and dose, so treat this as a commonly reported experience rather than a guarantee.
The aroma leans sweet and rich, with real depth to it. Chocolate and coffee notes sit up front, backed by earthy and tropical fruit undertones. It’s a scent that stands out immediately from more typical, fuel-forward sativas.
On the inhale, chocolate and coffee dominate. A smooth, fruity sweetness follows on the exhale, rounding out the flavour profile nicely. Reviewers consistently rank this among the more distinctive, dessert-like flavours in the sativa space.
That profile lines up with the terpenes most commonly reported in Chocolope: myrcene, limonene and pinene. Smaller amounts of caryophyllene and ocimene round it out. Exact percentages vary by phenotype. Even so, growers most often associate this strain with a sweet, coffee-forward terpene character. That’s a clear step away from the earthy, hash-heavy profile typical of Kush-family strains.
Growing Chocolope SeedsMost sources rate Chocolope Feminised as easy to moderate, and it’s a solid choice for a grower with at least a little experience. It thrives in warm, sunny conditions with plenty of light. The main thing to plan for is height, since this strain grows tall and vigorous if left untrained.
Indoors, some topping or low-stress training early in the vegetative stage helps keep growth manageable. Give it enough vertical room, since it can reach up to 2m if left to grow naturally. Outdoors, it particularly rewards a warm climate with a long, sunny season.
Because this strain can be sensitive to mould, good airflow through the canopy matters more than average here. Regular pruning to open up the lower canopy also helps reduce humidity around the buds. If you want a similarly energising sativa with an easier, more compact grow, AK-47 Feminised is worth comparing before you decide.
Chocolope Flowering Time & YieldChocolope Feminised typically finishes flowering in 9 to 10 weeks, or roughly 63 to 70 days. That’s once you switch it to a 12/12 light cycle indoors. Because it’s a genuine sativa at heart, some phenotypes can run a touch longer than that. Outdoors, harvest generally lands in mid-autumn across most of Australia, later than most indica-leaning hybrids on this site.
Indoors, expect yields of around 500 to 600 g/m² under good conditions. That’s a strong range, especially given how tall and vigorous this plant grows. Outdoors, a healthy plant given a full season can produce anywhere from 900g up to around 1kg, assuming reasonable light and a warm climate.
As always, actual results depend on light, nutrients, container size, climate and how well you manage the grow overall. So treat the figures above as a solid planning benchmark, not a guaranteed outcome.
Who Chocolope Seeds Suit BestChocolope Feminised suits growers who want a genuinely flavourful, award-winning sativa for daytime use. In particular, it’s well suited to anyone after mental clarity and focus, rather than a heavy body stone. Its rich chocolate-coffee flavour also makes it a strong option for growers chasing taste as much as effect. If you’re after that classic sativa clarity in a slightly easier package, Amnesia Haze Feminised is worth comparing.
On the other hand, it’s a less natural fit for growers specifically chasing deep, sedating relaxation. That’s simply not what this genetic profile delivers. Anyone wanting a purely heavy, evening-only indica should also look elsewhere, given how energising this strain runs. Bubba Kush Feminised is worth comparing if that’s what you’re after instead. For everyone else after a dependable, great-tasting sativa with real pedigree, though, Chocolope Feminised remains hard to top.

Chocolope is one of my favourite strains. Nothing better then uplifting strain in daytime thank you
I give this strain a high rating for its taste and effects. It also pairs well with a coffee as coffee clears the palate and you can get the full complex profile of flavours.
Fairly average yield compared to others but A1 excellent smoke. My favourite smoke
