What Is Pineapple Haze Feminised?Pineapple Haze Feminised brings a genuinely tropical, cerebral sativa to a full photoperiod grow. Barney’s Farm bred the strain from Afghan, Skunk #1 and Old School Haze genetics. This feminised version grows on a standard light cycle, flowering once switched to 12/12.
Several seed banks now sell their own feminised version under this name, though they don’t all describe the same genetics. Some instead describe a simpler Pineapple crossed with Haze. One source also traces the Haze side back to the original Haze Brothers lineage from 1960s California. Treat these as distinct accounts of the strain’s makeup rather than one single settled story.
What makes this version stand out is how faithfully it carries forward that bright, tropical pineapple character. It also carries forward a genuinely energetic, creative high. As a result, it remains a popular choice for growers after an uplifting daytime sativa with real flavour to match.
Origins & Genetics of Pineapple HazePineapple Haze Feminised traces back to Barney’s Farm’s own breeding, crossing Afghan, Skunk #1 and Old School Haze genetics. One other source describes a closely matching Afghan and Skunk #1 base with added Haze genetics. That corroborates the same general lineage. Two other sources instead describe a simpler Pineapple × Haze cross. One credits Garden of Green or Expert Seeds as the breeder. That same source also traces the Haze side back to the 1960s Haze Brothers in Santa Cruz. These read as genuinely different accounts of the strain’s origin rather than a single consistent lineage.
Most sources describe a sativa-leaning phenotype, generally putting the split around 65% to 70% sativa. THC generally lands between 15% and 24%, with most reports clustering around 19% to 22%. One source instead lists a considerably higher 30 to 35% range, well above every other source. That reads as an outlier rather than a typical figure for this strain.
This cross has earned a strong reputation for its bright, energetic effect and genuine tropical character. So its core identity stays remarkably consistent across sellers, even where the exact genetics and potency figures vary more than usual by source.
Pineapple Haze Effects, Aroma & FlavourUsers commonly describe an energetic, cerebral high with sparks of creativity and an upbeat, euphoric lift. That effect suits daytime use or any session where focus matters well. That combination makes it a genuine option for anyone after energising rather than sedating effects.
Meanwhile, the aroma leans tropical and sweet, dominated by ripe pineapple. Earthy, piney and citrus undertones also run through most reports.

Growing Pineapple Haze SeedsThis strain rates as easy to grow across most sources, with strong natural resistance to mould. Since it’s a full photoperiod plant, it needs a switch to a 12/12 light cycle indoors to begin flowering.
Indoors, its height and longer flowering window benefit from a little extra planning and training. Our guide to growing cannabis indoors in Australia covers the setup basics if you’re planning an indoor run.
Outdoors, this strain handles a range of climates comfortably. Its resilient, hardy build also gives it an edge in less-than-ideal conditions. Our Australian cannabis grow calendar is a useful companion read for timing an outdoor planting correctly.
Pineapple Haze Flowering Time & YieldPineapple Haze Feminised typically finishes flowering in 8 to 12 weeks from 12/12, with most reports landing around 9 to 10 weeks. Indoors, expect yields of around 450 to 700 g/m² under good conditions. One source instead lists a notably lower 250 g/m² figure. That sits well below every other source and reads as an outlier.
Outdoors, a healthy plant typically produces somewhere between 500 and 800g, given reasonable light, space and a full season. Barney’s Farm’s own page reports up to 1.5kg under ideal conditions. One other source, though, gives two conflicting outdoor figures on its own page. Treat the higher end of these numbers as a best-case scenario rather than a guarantee.
This strain runs a longer photoperiod timeline than many hybrids. As a result, it suits growers happy to commit to a full outdoor season. Our guide to spotting quality weed is a useful companion read once harvest day arrives.
Who Pineapple Haze Seeds Suit BestThis strain suits growers chasing a genuinely tropical, energising sativa with a real cerebral kick. It also suits users after a creative, focused daytime effect rather than heavy sedation. Specifically, beginners will appreciate its natural resistance to mould.
On the other hand, it’s a less natural fit for anyone after a heavy, sedating body high or a fast, self-flowering timeline. If you’d prefer a faster, self-flowering timeline instead, with no light-cycle switch to manage, Pineapple Haze Autoflower is worth a look. For anyone after a full-season grow with genuine, tropical Pineapple Haze character, though, Pineapple Haze Feminised is hard to beat.

Smells and tastes like it sounds
The seeds arrived safely and look very good with a good size and colouring. I will be getting some started for a friend who has chronic muscular pain issues and will then pass them on for him to grow at his property in a local regional town.
This strain has a high yield and grew to over two metres high and was a good puff.
