OriginsThere are two theories as to how the plant got its name: one is that the G stands for “government,” and the other is that the number 13 is simply the number of a plant from a specific seed line that proved to be of excellent quality.
The other theory is that the name G13 is an abbreviation for “Greenhouse number 13,” the location where the plant was allegedly liberated from a government research facility at the University of Mississippi by an unknown assistant..
